what's the name of this British (???) comedy show?

On a flight from London to Vancouver on British Airways in 2001, I saw some episodes of the most hillarious comedy show I have ever seen. Unfortunately my shoddy memory prevents me from recalling what it was called and I can't find it anywhere. I'm hoping there are some brits here who can identify it based on my description:

It's a stunt comedy show where the host (dude with dark hair and a nasty disposition) puts random people in weird situations like these:

A man is feeding pidgeons at a town square next to a sign that says something along the lines of "Don't feed the pidgeons, they grow abnormally large". after a few seconds, a man-sized pidgeon runs into frame and knocks the guy over.

Similarly people are feeding squirrels on a forest path next to a sign saying the same thing. Then suddenly two man-sized squirrels come out of the forest and knock a bicyclist over.

A man dressed as a cop approaches two elderly ladies in a park and starts questioning them about a rabid mass murderer who looks exactly like one of the women.

A man walks into a real estate office to ask questions. Seconds later, the receptionist gets a phone call from a mental institution describing a mad rapist and mass murderer who has just escaped. the description fits the guy that just entered to a T. They tell the real estate agents to keep the guy in the room until help arrives.

These are all kind of hidden camera type shots.

I thought the show was called "The Smoking Gun" or "The Loaded Gun" or something like this but that's not the name.

Do these descriptions ring a bell for anyone? I'd love to find out what it's called and if there are episodes on the web or on DVD or something.

They had the most best comedys here a few decades ago mind, in my opinion.

Fawlty Towers
Blackadder
Keeping up Appearances

Cheaply made but couldn't fault them really. I miss old television, it's all reality shows now. =(
