Where to get Digital Photos printed?

Now that I've got a kid, I'm getting lots of requests to get pictures printed. If I do it myself at home, I'll be spending WAY too much time and effort on it. So, I'm wondering where I should go to get them printed? Mostly just looking to get 4x6's. I've used Sam's Club in the past, and they were great quality and the UV protection seems to be holding up well. But, Sam's Club is too far away now from my new house. Any suggestions?

I just uploaded to walgreen's to test them out. Supposed to pick the pics up in a couple of hours, we shall see...

Hey Lake, let me know how that goes, I want to print some personal stuff and have a walgreens down the road.

Thanks.

Going in a few to get them. I uploaded them at about 5:15, got an e-mail stating your photo's are ready 5:42. Granted I only got 2 made (8x10), cost $5.40 with tax. We'll see...

Ok, I think they came out pretty nice. I'm satisfied. I also ordered from Apple and those seemed to be more crisp, glossy. These had more of a matte feel to them, but still nice.

FYI, I got mine back from a local CVS a bit ago (they were printed in one hour @ .19¢ each for 4x6s). They look fantastic! I was really nervous about some of them...on my monitor some of the skin tones looked a little over-saturated, and I thought the prints would be even worse. But, the prints were VERY accurate, and very sharp. I will definitely be using them again for personal stuff. I might try a few at some bigger sizes, and some BW's, too.

what did you guys use for files, I mean what sizes, dpi, etc? Did it matter really with walmart and cvs?

I just used files straight out of my Sony digicam. 2460x3520 jpgs. CVS and Walgreens will only accept the JPEG flavors.

Just for my personal pictures I bought a Epson Picturemate. All it does is 4x6 prints. It saves a trip. Pictures come out really good.

If it is for someone else I go to a local lab
