Hoping to find short script to film.

Hi all,

I do some writing in my free time but my real passion lies in production. Lately I haven't had any free time to brainstorm and write so I am hoping that someone here might be interested in letting me shoot their short film.

I am currently working on funding for a $16,000 short so what I am looking for is something that I can take my equipment and a few friends and go shoot.

I just got an HVX so I am eager to just have a good story to play around with. I am a college student so the short would need to be something that would be easy enough to shoot over a weekend on no budget.

Is this the film I think it is? If so, sweet! I have been waiting to hear from you about this! Let me know what's going on via PM or email!

Yeah Nick it is. Right now we are trying to get the funding booklets together so we can start raising money. I will contact you about the script after I have had a chance to review it again.
 
seunosewa already mentioned (thanks for that), but I would also encourage you to check out MoviePoet.com.

It's a free screenwriting site that runs a monthly 5 page screenplay contest. We have over 500 scripts in our database and you can search them by genre, cast size, keywords, etc. Just make sure you get permission from an author before shooting their script.
 
I went there and signed up. I tried using the search area but everything I looked up wouldn't return any results. And I was as vague as possible. What am I doing wrong?

What were you trying to search for?

The search is only for a keyword or phrase. So, if you search for "vampire" it will find 10 scripts. However if you tried to search for "vampire or undead" it would find 0, because it is looking for the entire phrase "vampire or undead".

I hope that helps. Also, feel free to post in the forums about the kind of script you are looking for and I am sure you will get plenty of responses.

The majority of the scripts there are written with low-budget independent filmmakers in mind - so I'd be surprised if you can't find something that meets your needs.
