Business Card Printing Online?

I'm in need of some more/new business cards.
Last time I got some printed I did it with a local print house here - but I know a lot of people print them online.

Anyone here use any online services they've been happy with?
Cost is always a factor, but my biggest concern is a professional product.

Thanks.

(OH - and if it matters, I'm looking to get double sided cards printed this time around)

Overnightprints.com does awesome work on a really thick cardstock. I am about to order from them again soon with my updated contact info. Luis if I catch you around sometime I will give you one so you can take a look or you can have them send you a sample card.

I used them for my last order. Looks great!

I concur... Overnight Prints is who I recently used . They were running a special in January for 100 free cards, which is when I tested them out. Nice cards. I'd buy from them. Next time I see a special I'll post it here. I think they do it every January.

Some of you may have had good experiences with Overnight Prints. I used to be an advocate of their company...now, I'm an extemely disgruntled ex-customer.

They've screwed up several orders in a row. They make it extremely difficult to talk to a real human. At most, they'll give you a 20% discount after they've shipped late and printed a 10-20% of your order poorly. If this was a one-time problem I'd keep my mouth shut. This is a persistent problem that I experienced repeatedly. I kept going back to them hoping it was a one-time thing. I wanted to be a loyal customer. Their poor quality and poor customer service drove me away.

I don't know what happened to this company, but there is no other way to say it...they suck.

I've ordered many, many business cards and postcards from Vista print. I have always been pleased with the quality (but I'm not too picky, mainly because of the price: FREE).
That's correct, once you are on their email list, you will get an offer at least once a month for 250 premium business cards, full color glossy for just the cost of shipping (about $6.00) . They make their money from the options- extra to upload your own design, extra for more cards, , faster shipping, etc. What I have learned:

ALWAYS choose the slowest shipping- it will still get to you in about a week.
DONT buy extras, just cranks up the per card price.
Use their templates to design your cards- there are plenty of nice ones. Or spend a
few bucks to upload your own if you must.

If anyone wants some, let me know and I will post the link from their latest email
(on my other computer).

Try about one or twice a week! Their print quality is pretty good and feel professional. I am getting ready to order some postcards from them to promote my RED camera. Normally, the upload fee is $5, but they've slashed that in half and the shipping is around $7. So for under $15 I can get 100 glossy postcards!

yo my friend has a printing company called jakprints

www.jakprints.com

16pt double sided full color gloss cardstock is like $90 for 5000

I ordered about three dozen shirts from Jakprints. They forgot to clean the press and about 8 of the shirts were stained with dabs of ink from the previous order. When I told them this Jakprints told me "Your order is too small to fix. It's not worth it to us."

I did a test order of business cards from Vista Prints. I paid for their premium cards. The cardstock was thin, flimsy and it wasn't smooth. And that was the best paperstock they carried.

Both Jackprints and Vista Prints lost me as a customer. All of these companies are volume oriented businesses. None focus on quality. They should clean their gear and have a human spot-check every order. If they don't feel that is cost-effective then they need to have a more flexible return policy for their screw-ups. Jakprints, Overnight Prints and Vista Prints have none of these.

If you care about quality find a local company...at least until someone invents a damn good online print company that cares about retaining customers.

Am I picky? You bet! I've worked on the floor of print shops. When I do large runs I go to the print shop, bring my own loop and make sure their registration is perfect. It takes an extra five minutes for them to make any adjustments and the print quality is way better.

My pickiness isn't the reason Overnight Prints, Vista Prints and Jak Prints failed. It isn't that they do a pretty good job and I'm too picky. It isn't a gap of 5% in quality. It's 50%. It's so vast that the only thing to say is THEY SUCK.

- Who has splats and splatters of ink on your shirts from other runs and still charges you money? Jakprints.
- Who uses crazy-thin paper for business cards and pretends a non-continuous tone image is continuous tone? Vista Prints
- Who used to be great but now has mistakes in every run and begrudgingly offers small discounts for their errors? Overnight Prints

Honestly...it makes me want to open my own online print company and do it right.

I have placed two orders to Vista Print and they both came out fine. I am getting ready to order again and see no reason to switch. They all seem about the same.

You can always design your cards in a variety of programs like Microsoft Publisher for example, and save the card on a CD then take it to a store like Staples and they will print how ever many you need. I just had 200 cards printed a few months ago that way.

i am also an overnightprints customer - i've had business cards done (w/ custom overlay which is really nice) and several postcards for my band - all came out top notch .. you shouldnt dismiss Prodigi's complaints but i believe he's in the minority

Ordered my cards through vistaprint.com this week. Will post how this order comes out. Like I said before, I have been happy the last two orders. This was for two sided color business cards (I uploaded the design) and thicker stock. Picked up 500 with shipping for $56.
