Who wants to design a logo for me?

J.R. Hudson

Spirit Animal
336 x 336 pixels

Now you know I'd do it if I had my photoshop up; but my computers are still in boxes and won't be up for a week or so

It's for my blog

http://www.cineobscure.com/

I want to replace the generic image with something killer. Using the general color scheme of the current template, but

I'd like to contrast the current page scheme using the orange that is located in panel 5 of the color wheel

Thanks in advance to anyone bored and feeling creative. I'll give you a shout out on the blog (Yippee)

What I came up with:

cine2.jpg
cine3.jpg

Tell me if you want me to change it somehow.

Sorry it took me so long, here is what I came up with:

I still have the PSD file if you want any thing tweaked or changed. I considered adding a sweet gradiant in the background, but thought that might be too much.

 Cheers,

NOTE: I left the full name out of the logo because on the site it is printed directly below it. If you want me to add it in, hollar, and I'll have it done in no time!

I like that; missing something, but loving the colors

here's something i made earlier :) last time i designed a logo it was for an antiseptic apparatus for urinals.

I dig the uniqueness of this one. Adds a ton of character to it

Not the direction I was hoping ? But am grateful you tried one !

That's freaky cool. Maybe. Maybe combining the other ideas ..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not the most inspired of attempts, but here ya go:

On second thought, the gradient line is kinda weak. I don't know.

I'm not quite sure, but I think John may be looking for a cleaner, simpler look Nick. Just a suggestion based on the other designs.

Good luck guys!

Thanks, Kegan! After reviewing his comments I think you are right. I must have let the "Let's go crazy in Photoshop" Nick beat out the "Let's actually do something right" Nick.

Although, I must thank John, because designing these logos inspired me to make a new one for Conspiracy Penguin Productions and I am pretty happy with it. Now to make a signature banner version. Maybe tomorrow.

Back to the drawing board! Thanks,

Jared... I want to take that for my own logo... pretty slick.

Chase... I know EXACTLY who that is and where it was from... unfortunately not really cinema... but dude... that rocks. I've been telling my brother for YEARS that they should remake THAT show! Still in the same period though... NOT modernized except for VFX.

Nick... I would drop the airbrushing... if you get a logo ultra clean then modify, that is the strongest foundation. The best logos are those that can be black and white and maintain design and communication.

The logo should be a filmreel... divided in half vertically... and the left half should be clearly a filmreel while the right half appears half smudged away... then under that you have the word cinema on the clean half (and readable) and on the obscure side, obscure. Optionally the wording can be directly over the reel. There's your idea... now do it. If you make it like a pencil sketch then you can even add eraser dust around the edges of the reel on the obscure side... like it's cinema that time has nearly wiped out...
