JVC Everio isnt found by FCP 5

I have a Everio by JVC that I am trying to inport the footage into FCP 5, and for some reason FCP can not find the camera. I have switched the capture presets in FCP to HDV, and tried HDV alone as well as with the apple codec.

On the camera I tried the DV and the HD settings, still nothing.

I was trying to use it from the firewire output on the rear of the camera-

Any ideas?

is your camera is HD or now what camera do you have some more info .

You need FCP 6 to get footage of HDD or Mini-DVD based cameras (not all cameras are supported though).
