I want to permanently outfit all of my Minolta lenses with lens gears to cut down on setup time on set. What are the opinions out there?
I have a few of the RedRock ones (about $60 each), and although they work well, I have two problems with them:
---You can't go 360. I know I know, you rarely need to do that for a shot, but what this means is that on some lenses you have to adjust the gear from one shot to the next to be in the required focal range.
---Being plastic, they can slip around on metal lenses. I deal with this issue with gaffers tape, which works fine, I guess. Minor complaint.
I am interested in the other options that can go 360. Cinevate's look great, but they're $120 ea. How about Indifocus'? I'm interested to see some pics of these in action, as they are only $22.
Anyone have comments, or photos?
