Subtitles and DVD Render/Rip Please Help!

Hey guys, I made a short film but I dropped my hard drive and can't retrieve the original files again. All I have is the DVD of it. I want to put this short film on youtube but can't find a way to rip my film WITH the subtitles included.

I don't want it just for youtube, but to edit as well (make trailers etc). So how can I rip it at a very high quality (for TV viewing) with the subtitles and that is editable in Sony Vegas 7?

I tried #1 DVD Ripper already and used the Divx and Xvid codecs. Besides the video running faster than the audio (for some weird reason) it doesn't work in Vegas.

I also tried VirtualDubMpeg2 using the Panasonic DV codec which I liked, but I can't rip the subtitles along with it.

Cinematize 2 Pro is pretty much exactly what I need but I don't have the money to be spending $130 on a program to just do a one time thing.

Can you guys help me out?

Note: On this other DVD I tried rendering in VirtualDubMpeg2, the video and audio weren't in sync, and yes, the "Sync to Audio" button was selected.

Thanks guy!

Guys, please help me out. I really need this bad. Cinematize 2 Pro is exactly what I need, but it's so expensive. I don't have that kinda money to spend. Is there any other way I can do it?

argh! Handbrake is cool but I can't get the audio to encode, and plus, it only gives me like 4 options for codec. I can't use Panasonic DV codec, which is what I wanted to use. Anyone else have any ideas? Please help me out here.

Oh arges, thanks man! I didn't think about that. Too bad I don't have a DVD Player. I'll try to find one somewhere. God bless you!
