hi all,

The long awaited Nikon mount is here ( one piece, with splitted flanges, same quality with Nikon body). Aaron will get the pictures tomorrow then we will have it ready for order. The price will be $100. We will let all pending orders to upgrade for $40 extra.

Thanks

Hien

nice. What is this mount all about?

p.s. sent you an email.

Great Hien,

The Nikonusers must be happy....

but what about the EOS-mount-users?

And the.... C/Y? (everyone knows these lenses are great)

It also has back-focus adjustments.

They should have fix the image centering, but they provably will sell that separately for another $100

back focus adjustment like the brevis??!!!!???!!!

then i want one. amazing.

Thanks for the posting, Hien. Haven't had any problems with the Nikon mount since I did the fix you suggested.

Will be in Hillsboro next week shooting at Intel and will give you a call.

So I get a new let EX two weeks ago and have to fork out another $100 for a new nikon mount because the current one is faulty?

Hmmmm.

Hmmmm.

Did you ask Letus? or are you just going to post that crap in here?

Hien told me I would recieve a $60 credit towards the new mount if I send the old one back thus making the new mount $40
I dont know about newer buyers, I bought mine back in Oct.

It's mo betta man, get over it. The other choice is that the Le brothers introduce a product once and then never upgrade it. I've seen that too and believe me, I like constant R&D as opposed to just sitting on laurels.

I agree with you taormina.

I like a company that should be looking always as new technology is introduced to upgrade their systems.

With that said. I think that it was a mistake to sell a camera mount that wasn't able to do what it was meant to do.

The Nikon mount was only able to support the lens. It didn't secure it firmly in place and it was too short to focus to infinity. It should have never been sold like that.

Many of the reports of edge to edge softness comes from loose lenses and mounts off axis. I don't need an adjustable back focus. I need a Nikon mount. Nikon cameras don't have back focus adjustments.

I love my LEX and they are very nice people, but I think that the customers that trusted their adapters when they were the new kids in the block should not have to pay a mark up price.

I am going to order one because it would cost me more to do a re-shoot because I couldn't FF.

Yeh, but for that money you don´t get an upgrade, I mean something extra.

You only pay extra for an important part on a - over $1000 - equipment that shuld work out of the box anyways.

When you buy a LEX the discription does not say "with wobbling Nikon Mount" ist only says "Nikon Mount" so I expect that it mounts Nikon lenses properly (even the cheap indian adapter can do that).

We know that this was not the case. So "upgrading" to something you already payed (a working mount" for $100 (or $40) is somhehow bitter.

The current mount is a defect und should be changed for free.

I wonder if anyone takes the time to really price these upgrades out with competing adapter manufacturers?

The Letus Extreme costs 1200 right now. It's Pre-Flipped, one-all inclusive unit. That's no rails but includes your choice of mount.

Let's run numbers:

Edit here: Added this instead of the estimated numbers. Thanks to Jared.

And I still say the Letus should cost more based on build and an all inclusive unit minus rails for what it offers. An extra 40.00 for a Nikon Mount Upgrade is a good deal.

Now there's a premium Nikon mount (Which should be noted as Premium) that normally sells for 100.00 on the SGpro and Redrock site available. They've also offered the exchange/upgrade option. It's an UPGRADE not a FIX. It's a NEW Nikon mount, not a "fixed Nikon mount".

This kind of attitude deters manufacturers from upgrading their product at all. Take the time to process information and understand from both sides of the fence, consumer and manufacturer. Does Panasonic or Canon exchange your camera for free when they upgrade it? No. I don't see why we expect the generous community involved manufacturers such as Redrock, Letus, Brevis, or SGpro (Did I leave someone out?) to offer upgrades MARKED as upgrades for free.

This includes the EX-1 Achromat kit.

Let's all back off of the manufacturers and realize that what they're offering us would be a "hell no" from anyone else. Try that with the Mini35 people and be laughed at in a different langauge.

Actually, the SGpro w/flip, 15mm rods support and Nikon mount is $1,397 USD. This also includs an aluminium flight case!

Also, the Brevis w/flip @ $1400 does NOT include rails, add another $350 for these.

and we are talking about a $40 UPGRADE here.
I was pissed when I missed the first P2 Free card thing by mere days, but that was a
$1200 card... 40 BUCKS??
wow

very well put Kholi

That is after the £70 shipping added.

The price for the package is £694 ($1,397 USD). Again, this includes the SGpro w/flip, 15mm rods support, Nikon mount and an aluminium flight case!

When you compare packages from different manufacturers, you need to remember to include everything needed, rods support, rods to adapter mount, flight case, mounts...otherwise it is not a fair comparison.
