Creative minds of the 20th century

The other day I was asked by my girlfriend to find her ten or more creative minds of the 20th century that didn't smoke cigarettes.

We're looking for people in the art/literature areas.

Thanks

that's kind of a random factoid to know about someone. i've never read a biography about an artist that mentions that they didn't smoke cigarettes. i doubt you'll find 10 well known people that are confirmed to never smoke.

That's like asking which ones drank diet colas or were vegetarians. Unless there's a photo of them smoking (or eating vegetables) it's hard to say if they did or not.

And "creative" is a very relative term. I consider the team behind the Pixar films to be VERY creative and I'm fairly certain [SIZE=-1]John Lasseter doesn't smoke. And what about the man behind Apple, Steve Jobs. I don't think he smokes tobacco. Jerry Seinfeld definitely doesn't smoke. And I'm fairly certain Steven Spielberg does not smoke.

If the question is meant to figure out whether smoking causes more creativity or creativity causes more smoking, then you could easily bring up the argument that 99.9% of smokers are not on the list of "The Most Creative Minds of the 20th Century". lol

Stephen Hawking?

Steven Spielberg smokes cigars, but I guess that doesn't count since we are only talking about cigarettes.

okay, when telling this joke you should be smoking a cigarette yourself. and again, this is Matt's joke, not mine...

you: "what kind of cigarettes does jesus smoke?"
them: "i don't know? virginia slims?"
you: "marlboros. because he's a real man. what does dale earnhart smoke?"
them ***shrugs shoulders, wondering if this is really a joke***
you: "jesus in a race!"

at this point you flick your lit cigarette but into their chest. and if you're drunk enough you can punch them in the face too, i guess.

wow you really do need to be drunk to tell that one... I like finishing it with a punch to the face. Then just knock em down and start wailing on them maybe?

I think you need to be really drunk to think it's a coherent joke.

Ask me if I'm a tree.

Are you a tree?

(Offended) NO!

I did a paper on something like this once. It explored the relationships between jazz musicians and narcotics, specifically heroin.

It's really a cool correlation to study; the whole creativity helped or harmed by drugs thing. Almost all great jazz musicians did heroin; except for one crazy guy who did LSD until he started getting holes in his face and couldn't play anymore; and Dizzy Gillespie, who was never shown to have done drugs.

Who hasn't smoked weed and fried at a Billy Squire and Ratt concert ?

Jeeesh. I mean, it's an artist thing right ?
