I posted...Notice the term Special Effects!??
You posted...
Check the thread man... AND the credits. He is the only one credited with Editing & Visual Effects, as I said in my post that you tried to twist around.
At least try to get your facts straight.
Obviously you have something against him so I'll leave you to it.
Jealousy seems to run deep for some people. Why not be happy for him??
I just don't get it.
Cheers,
Mike
As I said in my original post.I wrote/directed/storyboarded and edited it myself, and also did 95% of the visual effects.
In his own words...
As I said in my original post.
If you followed his comments and looked at his tutorials you would realize how much work HE personally put into Silent City.
It all really doesn't matter at this point. He obviously did something right.
If he's not talented enough to start working on Features... everyone else on here is doomed.
This will be my last post on the subject so you can have the last word.
I look forward to his first feature!
As for your signature.... Don't be so closed minded that you can't see the trees in the forest.
Ruairi is obviously a talented individual and seems more than ready to make the next big step.
With a competent team and cast he will do just fine.
I'll wait until it comes out before I start bashing it.
But... whatever makes you feel better.
Cheers and have at it!
Mike
It's simple. Ruairi is being given a shot. He's one of us. He started here. He's a 'nobody', just like all of us.
Because of this, he represents hope, for all of us, that it CAN be done. You don't need to have a rich daddy or your mouth on a producer's ass. In Ruairi's case, it was purely all about talent. They loved his commercials, his shorts, and his pitch... and the fact that he was nominated for an oscar helped.
That's why a lot of us feel that we should just be congratulating him, rather than question his ability. To question his ability is to indirectly question all of our abilities. That's how it feels.
To tell you the truth, I would feel more uncomfortable if they chose some experienced Hollywood director. Someone inexperienced to hollywood gives something new, and being experienced, doesn't mean that you're good. It just means you know how a set works.
What if they got Brett Ratner, or Micheal Bay to direct this thing? They're experienced and they bring in people...
Ruiari may be inexperienced on big feature sets, but he's obviously very experienced in vision, and he has raw talent. That's what should count.
