SGpro's Follow focus, Flip, and PL mount. Mixed with Cinevate?

Is there any footage out there for the SGpro using a PL mount lens? How well does the PL mount work?

Also is their new follow focus unit out yet? I'm curious if anyone has tested it yet how it compares to others regarding backlash/play.

My primary discussion, though, is has anyone mixed a cinevate flip with an SGpro or the Cinevate achromat? I have heard that those products could produce even better results on an SGpro. Does the cinevate achromat even work on the SG?

I have a brevis already and can use that achromat (if it works) on the SG but I don't have the SG in my hands to test and would prefer to know before ordering the adapter as to save the $160+ from purchasing yet another achromat.

As far as I know, the achromat comes with the SG unit, I dont think you can order it without...

The followfocus is nice, theres no play at all, aslong as you get the gears meshing properly....

Back up top. I'd like to know if there is a comparison shootout between the SG/Letus and Cinevate flips.

Ive heard very good things about the cinevate and wonder if mixing with the SG would be a winning combination.

Also, what about achromats? And if cinevate's parts are mixed in will SG still be callibrated correctly focus wise. Seems as though it would because the mount and GG is still post flip module.

I will hopefully be able to test the SG with a Cinevate Flip this week, I will post results, Plus I will try to do it with my friends HVX for more res. At least I will get it done with my DVX.

Just get the SG one, no point mixing brands, you know the SG works with the SG flip dont risk ending up with problems....

I have tested an SGPro Rev 2 with the Cinevate Flip and I thought it worked quite well on an HVX. The tests are on this site:

I haven't tested an an SG with its own flip though for comparison. There was a bit of difference between center and corner focus, but not too much and I thought the compromise "mid focus" gave good results. Make your own judgements though and please read all the notes first because there are a lot of caveats about how the tests were shot - so don't use them to judge eveness of exposure.

Will a Rev 3 work as well? i presume so but I have not been able to get a soul here to answer my questions as to whether the Rev 3 has the same "footprint as the Rev2 so it will attach the same way.

To connect with a rev2 with the cinevate flip I removed the condensor and the tube that came with it and snugged the SG into the flip. It was not hard mounted but could have been with the right adapter rings. They both have 62mm threads but there is a little tube on the Rev 2 that gets in the way of a simple marriage. Not hard to get around though.

I am going to post again as a separate thread to see if anyone will describe their Rev3 to me.

hoarp001,
Look at the thread just posted "Question for SGRev 3 owners).
Actually i would love to see frame grabs for a chart as well if that's possible.
Are you getting the new one that should correct for the Sony EX and HVX?
