I really need to use a long zoom for this project I'm shooting on HVX with the P+S. The 35mm Zooms are HUGE and SO HEAVY. Looking at the lighter more compact Canon Super 16 zoom (8-64mm). Anyone out there ever tried to use super 16 lenses on the P+S? Any advise on what to look out for with a setup like that? Or what do people use in the case of needing a zoom? Thank you for your thoughts...

Won't work.
Super 16 zoom lenses cannot cover the 35mm cine sized target of the PS. It can work the other way around. Meaning you can often put 35mm cine lenses on a Super 16 camera, it more than covers the target area, but not the other way around.

It's probably the main reason I never use zooms with the PS.

The biggest advantage to the Nikon or 35mm SLR system over PL mount ( maybe the only advantage aside from price) is that you can get a cheap sharp, small Nikon or Canon zoom. That's a big deal actually. How long a zoom do you need? Why not go with an SLR adapter instead of the P+S?
