I found an HD version on the movietube website but I cant seem to find it now...anyways it was shot with th hvrz1u with the movietube.

I hope to make a music video this awesome one day.

Why isnt there more movietube footage? Because it costs 15k?

I watched it. I don't get it. Seems like a ripoff of Stop Making Sense and a lot of Talking Heads videos. It's not a bad video, but it seems a little derivative to me. What made it so great to you? Peformance video with a bunch of characters dancing with the band? That's it? I just don't see greatness or even originality. Enlighten me.

I think most of the videos that Mark Romanek directed blow this away, particularly Devil's Haircut by Beck and The Perfect Drug by NIN but hey, we all have our favorites.

Hard to tell quality on YouTube, everything looks bad on YouTube.

I don't think this comes close to anything done by Endeavor. As a matter of fact there are quite a few videos on here that are on par with anything on t.v. imho.

It was a pretty fun music video - I liked it quite alot. I won't go so far as to say it was the best I've ever seen, but it was definitely a good music video. I can't comment on the 'rip offness" because i havent seen any of the other videos cited above. The guy needs dancing lessons though..heh

Why do I bet that you and I are the only ones on this thread old enough to have ever seen a Talking Heads video? ;-)

I dont quite know what it is, but the song, the butt slapping...perfect. I havent seen a music video that was as enjoyable as this one sense I can remember...

Send me a link to your favorite music videos!

Talkingheads? C'mon your not that old...

and dont get me started on the dancing...the first time I saw this, I was shocked at his moves. You try dancing like that!

Hi Hunter:

Back in the olden days, when MTV actually showed music videos and music videos were considered an indulgent video art form, it all pretty much began and ended with Mark Romanek, the director of One Hour Photo.

http://www.markromanek.com/

His stuff is all Flash so I don't have direct links but check out...

Fiona Apple - Criminal
Beck - Devil's Haircut
Nine Inch Nails - Perfect Drug
Madonna - Bedtime Stories and Rain

Pretty much every music video Mark has directed is really good and some of them are the best ever created IMHO. What blows me away besides his always stunning visuals is that you feel as if you are watching a feature film, the small stories that he tells in the videos feel like part of a larger feature film. His videos are not merely a visual representation of the song, they are art pieces that happen to sync with the song.

As far as other music video directors, most of Michel Gondry's videos are outstanding as well. Almost anything he did for Bjork in the late 90s is great.

For Rap videos, Hype Williams along with Dave Meyers pretty much owned the field in the late 90s.

Best,

Dan

Yeah, baby, yeah ... the Robocop Kraus. Cool german band. I saw this video over half a year ago and first I thought Devo, Talking heads and of course Kraftwerk ( which is my favorite band since I bought Autobahn in 1974) Yes Hunter, I am that old.

what kinda drugs are you on to thinks such things???!?!?!?!?!?!??!!!

The weird thing about this video is that I don't see the benefits of using a 35mm adapter at all so it's hardly a showcase as to why you would want to use one. Of course, the YouTube version is very hard to see.

Add me onto the list of people familiar with the Talking Heads video. :)
