Toenis please show me the 14mm stills/video when you can. I am seriously lookng at getting one at this moment. Ultra-Wide is fun. :D

Hey thanks Jon, downloading.

Edit: nice footage! Might have to go after a Vivitar afterall.

You have a hair in your footages, by the way.

Beware, not all pelengs are the same.
Ain't that the truth. Same with other Russian cine gear from that time period, like the Krasnogorsk. If you got a "good one" it was gold; if you got a bad one it was junk. The engineering is solid, but the implementation is where things can vary.

This was shot with Letus Mini and HV20. Back focus was uncalibrated btw so it was hard to get hyperfocal with lens that wide as the flange distance was too close. Still not too bad, exported with some default settings from premiere.

I think I found that blasted Hair! I shot some stuff on sunday and after Digest the same hair was there, so I go some compressed air out and did a super clean of the rig.

I read that Wes Anderson uses a 40mm Anamorphic lens for his wide-angle work (which is most of the stuff he shoots). Does anyone know what the equivalent of this would be in the 35mm adapter world?

The 14mm stuff looks nice but it is borderline fisheye. I'm also on the lookout for a super wide but I want to get the widest I can without the fisheye look.

No, the 14mm 2.8 L FD is absolutely rectilinear, with lens that wide image just get`s linearly distorted on the extreme edges. It is not that easy to get used to.
Search the net for the fastest and widest rectilinear SLR lens (14mm 2.8) and you`ll find out.

Oh and it was shot somewhere between f2.8 and f4 because HV20 doesn`t recognize the change in light but the vignetting improves drastically.

Dang. I want a 14mm. That wasn't fisheye, that was just slanted edges from extreme wides.

THey're SO expensive, though.
