Good book and DVD about PRODUCTION (help pro director to plan and shoot quickly)

Hello! I need some help.

I want to buy a good book about production. I am a film director (working several years in ads and documentary) . Next year I start my first full-feature movie and I want some info which helps me to plan my pre-production period and shooting days better.
For me - to create such TV shows as LOST with just a couple of shooting days (for 1 episode) - it is a miracle! Each scene have a huge number of different shots. So I want to study this process deeper.

I try to:
1. find some really professional info at special edition dvds (with directors comments or "behind the scenes") but most of them has no information about rehearsals or shooting plans...
So my first question is - do you know something really good (dvd with these info - not LOST exactly but any movie)??

2. I try to find a book not just for novices. I choose this:
http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Produ...2514904&sr=1-1
...only because I like "table of contents") (there is no such a kind of books in our country so I only have a possibility to buy it from Amazon without looking inside)
So my second question - is it good or may be your know a better one?

Thank you!

1. a. Digital Cinema Training
1. b. Broken
1. c. Robot Stories

Incidentally, while viewing director commentaries for major motion pictures is okay, you will get many more details and insights from Indie filmmakes. For excellent free audio interviews with directors and producers, listen to "The Treatment".

2. a. Directing: Film Techniques and Aesthetics
2. b. Filmmaking for Dummies (has useful high-level management info)

Enjoy, Michael

Thanks for your answer!! My English is not so good and maybe I use the word "production" not correctly, not so DEEP.
Here is the topic where somebody explains it better (with video examples and screenshots)

I need some book or dvd to know this process in professional details (with "how to use the day before shooting", "how to shoot so many angles in one shooting day", "how to organize really big crew on the stage", "who is responsible and for what in Hollywood cinema system" etc).
Look at the link which I posted and maybe you understand me better This is exactly what I want. I already have some experience in shooting but wants to achive a higher level, a level of big movies and SHOWS
Thank you once again (I booked Filmmaker training Course!) and waiting for your new advices!

Rehi,

Only one other DVD comes to mind on camera angles from a professional cameraman's perspective:

Hollywood Camera Work

This video series goes into great depth on camera shot sequences, blocking, avoiding crossing the line with complicated shots, and how to setup the camera shot from a basic screenwriter's script. And in addition to getting the DVD course, you will receive an ID/password to a private bulletin board forum (like dvxuser) where you can communicate with other DPs about camera work.

Regards, Michael
