Best lenses for SGpro... Zeiss? Nikon?

I am preparing to buy an SGpro adapter and I was contemplating which lenses to purchase. I don't have a huge budget, but I was thinking I might get lucky and purchase some Zeiss lenses on Ebay, but does the SGpro mount Zeiss lenses? I'm sure they do but I don't think I saw a mount on their site.

For the most part, I would like to work with Nikon.

Also, I know very little about lenses but would like to start with probably a 24, 50, and 105.
What f-stop should I be looking for? I know I'd like a 50 f/1.4

Sorry to all, I am still learning a lot so I'm full of elementary questions.

Old Zeiss lenses are in M42 mount (the Zeiss Jena). Lots of Zeiss lenses sold in Contax/Yashica mount. There are brand-new Zeiss lenses sold in Nikon mount (Zeiss ZF) and M42 screw mount (Zeiss ZS).

Zeiss is icing on the cake after you have everything else.

Well the key to your question is your budget. Zeiss lenses is not inexpensive..if fact a lot of times it is in the $900+ range for just one lense. If your just starting out..I would recommend spending your money on other items that is need to go with the the adapter. IE..a decent monitor, fluid head and tripod, lights, etc.

Damnit. That's what I meant.

I've been a bit dyslexic all day. Anyway, I'm looking to get the same camera next week along with the SGpro.

I'm excited to use but also know the learning curve for me will be very steep as I have never used a rig like this before.

Where are your favorite places around here (LA) to shoot?

i've been working with the xha1+letus all week, understanding it's like apples/oranges, i still came to a conclusion to appreciate my hvx a LOT more. but not saying xha1 is bad... it's cheaper, produces great images... i guess it's just the workflow + p2/firestore files as opposed to tapes that i like more... and... yea, all are great cameras...

talent within ourselves are "slightly" a lot more important. it's like... which quality will look better?

a community college student who thinks he's spielberg shooting on 35mm panavision? ***OR*** the actual "Spielberg" shooting on an hvx/xha1?

...btw back to the subject, i got my 50mm f/1.4 zeiss lens, getting my 25mm f/2.8 and 85 f/1.4 on Monday, getting my Letus tomorrow if FEDEX comes early morning... hopefully it'll look good, but ive tested the lens mount already, they seem to be loose and have some play, however the letus team states they are making their own mounts soon and hopefully set it up on the market in approximately a month.

...my longest post since day 1...

If your starting out I would start shooting right at your home or backyard until you get the hang of it before going out into the public. I myself like isolated places in LA. IE Malibu,MDR, or even in public parks. As for learning how to use the adapter..do a lot of research in the forums and you will learn a lot there. Then afterward you get the hang of it...you should be comfortable to shoot Shorts, Music Videos, etc.
