I'm trying to decide on a filmco name and have been brainstorming.

Any suggestions or tips for picking a filmco name? I want something that sounds somewhat professional.

I like "filmco." like in your subjet post....can I have it? Sounds so 50's.

Polaris sounds like a big company and a bit familiar.

Anon sounds like the haker group taking down scientology.

What kind of flicks you make?

First project in the works is for a drama/comedy. After that a light action film and then another drama.

Honestly I want to stay open though to making whatever. Yes, feel free to use filmco however you like. :)

Both of the names are fine, but the logos are not. Too difficult to read. The font and background color need to be more of a contrast. Just have a white background and work from there.

Good luck.

Just sit down with a pad of paper and pen (or pencil, whatever your preference). Turn off the TV and radio. Make it a time when you can be alone for half an hour or so.

Now let your mind drift and think about the kinds of movies and experiences you like.

The first word that pops into your head, write it down. Then without thinking about the word or what it might mean, write down the next word and the next.

It doesn't matter if they make sense or not, or whether they seem to apply or not. Just keep this up until the 30 minutes are up (best if you can set a timer so you don't have to watch a clock).

Now, walk away from the pad for at lea t a couple hours, preferably overnight if you can. Then look through all the words you wrote down, you might be surprised at some of them, not necessarily remember writing some. If any really stick out to you, write them on their own page and see if they work on their own (with films, pictures, studios, etc attached). Or perhaps a couple of them together in a phrase or part of one word and part of another into a new word (if I remember right, Miramax, is a new word made from parts of the founders parents names).

Hope that helps.
