Hi,

I got an email this morning to say my SG gear was ready, which was nice as it was about two weeks earlier than I was told originally. The GPS took me a really odd route but after I collected it and got home I could have a proper fiddle.

I knew it was already a good solid bit of kit, as I had seen it before I bought it. It really is good, the only thing that confused me was there are no instructions, so I had to work it out for myself, but I got there in the end. the flip module works very well, its hard to tell 100 percent as most of the lightbulbs have blown in this house (they all seem to go at once) so I cant see much through the camera but il have a proper go with it in the morning.

Very nice bit of kit though.

Footage to come.

Heres some photos. I agree it does look very odd being so high up on that big riser, but in the flesh, its actually pretty stable, very solid and not as top heavy as you would imagine.

bah, thats just a box!

go take some stills of a lamp or light bulb. Give us something! I really wanna see the edge to edge.

Awww but i put it back in its bed now. Il get it out tomorrow. I did get some pretty nice shots of a vase of red flowers. Thing is the DOF is sooo shallow, the tip of the petal is in focus, but the stalk its attached to isnt... Had to stop down to widen the DOF but then it was too dark. The sun will solve it.....

:violin:the sun is a mass of incandescent gas:violin:

the beautiful thing about the sgpro is the infinite use of shutter speed and lens fstop. one thing i wish i could do on my letus extreme to increase depth of field when required.

well, i can't really see any edge softening from that. Wowz, very nice :)

which camera are you using, and how far now, must you zoom in, to get the 35mm frame on the GG? And how does this effect your cameras aperture?

Yeah about 18-20ish. You can also zoom further up to its max telephoto on the camera for getting good macro stuff, with no apparent loss of sharpness. The aperture was set on about F3, and the lens about F3 too.

cool, so it seems as though the flip requires you to zoom in a little bit further.

This is slightly disappointing, but i guess you trade off image quality for a bit more light loss.

Cool photos. Get me misty eyed for England. You may want to check the GG focus - I think you can get it sharper.

Anyway, keep me posted with more.
