Peter Jackson to direct Halo movie

Isn't this old news? I thought Jackson was producing it, and he got that guy that made that weird alien/immigration short to direct Halo. I could have sworn I'd have seen a clip already...

I'm confused...

I thought the owners of the Halo brand killed it because they had nothing to gain and everything to lose. A bad movie can kill their franchise. Their worldwide weekend grosses exceeded anything a movie could pull in. We covered it live on G4.

BUT, if they did greenlight it, what can we expect, another film about walking (to quote Kevin Smith).

Don't hate me if you're a LOTR fan, I'm just funnin'.

This is too bad

I think Peter Jackson has the real chops to be a true artist; Heavenly Creatures, The Lord of the Rings and even The Frighteners ..

But after King Kong and then this news ..... bleh

Like Raimi, he should be doing more serious work, but instead has been doing cheesyfluff Spiderman films for the last 6 years.
