Good news everyone, I just got a friend to order a HV20, yeh me! and today I just got the shipping confermation from shoot35 so my SGpro should be here next week, along with the HV20, I really want to put out a good quality review on how it compares to a DVX to the HV20 on the rig, so I need rings, Where do I find the rings that go from 43mm to 72mm?, I looked thu B&h but had no real luck, do I need to dual up on rings? and Do i need a 43mm spacer? I heard I do, I cant wait to test this little camera on the Rig!
Thanks,

Jon

you'll probably need three
43-46
46-58
58-72
maybe you could do it with two?

i'm not sure about the spacer. i think matty_g said somthing about it over at the shoot35 forum. give that a search

what lenses do you have test?

lots of lenses, seeing how the tests turn out, I will decide wether not to use it for my next short rather than my dvx, we will see... I have 5 primes, all 20mm3.5 28mm3.5,50mm1.2 and 1.4,105mm2.5, 135mm2.8, and a 28mm-80mm 3.5, a 30-105mm3.0, and a 70-300mm4.0. I found a 43to58, then a 58 to 72, that might be the way to go, then a 1 inch 43mm spacer ring.

Very good Dennis, just bought one(will tonight). could you reply to my PM i sent you on your forum? Please, also, will your flip unit work with the SGpro? also do you thing a spacer ring is necessary?

Jon

The flip is working just fine on the M2, so I'd assume the same for the SG :-)
No cameras require the use of spacers on the flip..and none is required for the HV20 on our non-flipped Brevis adapter setup. Based on our HV20 research, you will see vignetting at the edges (meaning you'll have to zoom in more) on the SG, but you'd best check with Wayne on that one. With the Brevis35, the imaging element series is different for the HV20 to maintain full frame images size across the typical lens range.

I'll check those pms...

well once I get my dolly, crane, mattebox, and an FF (not in that order) I will hit you up on the flip then, oh wait, I am also saving up for the EX1 or something similar, so that might not be that soon...lol
thanks Dennis,

Jon

Wow, ok, Dennis, I think you prices are very reasonable, but SHIPPING, ouch! Thats killer( I know that completely out of your hands tho), please respect this then, I am going to wait, mess with the HV20, see just what I can do with it stock, then, If I want to spend some money(on a camera that I dont even own) I will. thanks for all of the support.

Jon

Hey Dennis,

I just went to your site but I can't seem to find the 43-72mm step up ring. Can you send me the link? Thanks!

On the SGpro, why would you need a step up or down ring? I always thought the Sgpro slid up to the camera, no screwing it to the threads. That's what I had always thought.

Yes, it there seems to be in issue with the iforumer host, we are looking into it.

So some can view our forum and some can't?

Mmm the site is working on both my laptop and my main computer now, but earlier on the site was erroring on both. Both MacOS and Safari...
