I was using Vegas 7 with a single core hp and 3g's of ddr ram on xp pro p2, but it was to slow. I started using a new hp with an intel duo core 1.9 ghz cpu and 3g of ddr2 ram on vista it worked a lot faster and I could see what I was capturing and I could edit. The only prob was It couldn't capture at all. On the other system I could capture but couldn't see what I was capturing. So I installed xp over Vista via the slipstream mode so now I have no sound. I need the UAA audio driver from microsoft. I got the hot fix but don't know how to install it. So I figured I'd reinstall vista and be done with it. So...what version of vista works on vegas, wether 7 or 8. Vista home or premium the top one or neither?
Will Vegas 7a work with any form of Vista?

Vegas 7 has never been fully cleared for Vista. Vegas 8 is supposed to be compatible. But you'll hear stories about how V7 works fine, and V8 having problems.
I have no plans to upgrade to Vista any time soon.

I have had no problems with 8 on Vista yet, but I have hardly put the system to much use.

I'm running Vegas v8.0b under Vista64 and it works flawlessly.
