Viewing 24p on External Monitor Problems!!

Hey guys hope you can help.

I am trying to send the video from FCP to an external monitor in real time for colour correcting purposes. I have an ADVC110 converter hooked up via firewire to my G5 and composites running into my Sony Trinitron monitor. My problem seems to be with 24p footage. I can only see the frame that I'm stopped on in the timeline, but cannot view it in motion during playback, however the audio is coming through the monitor fine. In a 29.97 timeline I can view the footage in real time playback. Is there anyway to view the video from a 24p timeline or am I kinda effed on that front?

Thanks in advance!

those particular converters are quite out of date with FCP. I'd go with a cheap DV camera or better yet a nice AJA card. You should be able to control the playback with your RT pulldown settings which you select wit the other RT settings in the drop down boxes on the left of your timeline.

Okay aside from spending any more money, and working with what I have, any suggestions? I don't know what specifically I should change from the RT menu...

Today I got the same problem using the HVX200 as external device to playback video. I have some footage in 720P 24N and it shows a static frame or scrubs ok, but no playback in external view.

Thanks,
Ulisses
