How to change contrast of just the reds in fcp

hi, was wondering if anyone could help me with a FCP color correction question? i'm working with fcp 5.0 and would like to increase the contrast of just the reds, leaving the blues and greens alone. i've tried the "limit effect" in the 3-way color corrector, but i cannot figure out how to make the link between this and the contrast... any ideas gratefully received!

anyone? i've found adjusting the contrast by colour (in particular the reds) to be very effective for creating a look with still photos, also for converting color to b&w. is this really not possible in fcp?

With the clip in the timeline>double click it so it opens in the viewer> go to effects and add the 3-way color corrector>click on it in the viewer> at the bottom left, click the small arrow to open the "limit effect" option>adjust the limit effect to the reds as desired.

thanks ryan, i just tried what you suggested but i can't see a way to adjust contrast manually inside the 3-way color corrector. unless i'm doing something really stupid, for me the "limit effect" option only lets you adjust the color dials and the saturation bar...

I don't know about FCP, but couldn't you apply a curves adjustment, select just the red channel and then tweak it to form an S curve?

It sounds to me like you're trying to lower the red level. Do what Ryan said to isolate the reds. Arrange your window for Color Correction and pull up your your vectorscope. Now, on the color wheel, pull the point in the center in the opposite direction of red, this will bring the red level down.
