all is quiet on the SGpro Front...???

Hello all, I was Just thinking, and thought to my self,"The Sgpro, everyone says its a great adapter, though all the recent topics are about the new Lex" I'm just wondering, If this adapter is soo great, then why dont I see as much recent footage with it? New shorts and clips are coming out what is seems hourly with the LEX, but with the Sg, everything seems quiet. With the debut of the New shoot35.com web site and the flip mod, along with one of the cheapest quality FF's out, you would think there would be more discussion on the adapter, so what Im trying to say, All sgpro users, Lets see what you have been doing!...Please...

Will put some stuff online soon. I think the SGpro users are not jumping on every hype that comes around. No offence though. :)

i cant show anythign i make with it.. its not my property... but if you watch TV and see an ad for NYC tourism.......... you just may see some of it... ;)

Also, SGpro's just arent out there in Numbers.... i think wayne as of last month was only shipping 30 a month. Now he is ramped up for many more. Letus, had them in stock and you could get it immediatly. Good move on their part.

For thoes who want to see some stuff...

ALSO, people should be posting footage in the respective Footage forums.

The SGpro is my favorite adapter. Beautiful bokeh, ability to shoot ALL apertures, true hard mount (it doesn't hold on with allen bolt pressure) and excellent build quality.

Hey, they speak! Timur, because you are a moderator, could we maybe have a sub-forum in this 35mm section for strictly 35mm footage? It would be a great way of funneling all of the footage into one place vs. searching in each "dvx" or "Hvx" section for one clip of a brevis or SG.. That is just a suggestion. In the meantime, Wayne will be happy to hear that I will be ordering my sg within the week, and i cant wait to put as much footage as possible on dvxuser.... Thanks guys.

I own both. I like the SG's overall picture better because of the bokeh. I also think it's mounting method isn't as haphazard as the LEX (I guarantee a few units have slipped out already and hit the floor hard). But I think the LEX is slightly sharper. However, I haven't tested the new new flip. Timur, is it any sharper?

From my tests, if sharpness and light loss are your priority, the LEX is it. Better for docs. If bokeh, shutter and f stop flexbility are your main concerns, go SG.

I chose to keep both.

HVX with SG and many Nikon primes

compare it to this varicam/ps technik/zeiss prime show and I think the Sg/Nikon holds up quite well. Unlike the PS, it has no visible grain.

I second Jon's idea for a 35-adapter footage subforum. I've been shooting my SGpro on my new HV20 for the past week and the footage is stunning! But the HV20 footage section here is pretty sparse. It would be nice to look at footage from the different adapters in one place regardless of if it was shot on a DVX/HVX/HV20/XHA1/etc.

Hey Tim, i havent had time to try it yet... Plusi have no way of connecting it to the SG, cause i dont have the riser set yet. WE can jerry rig something. you free next week?

Hey Timur,
Please let me know if any upcoming SG experiment, I like to test my 17-35mm and 80-200mm with Brevis and SG (which I don't have)

Thanks for all the nice feedback guys!

Now we have the new website online and once new year and the xmas holiday is over, we have some plans for 2008.

We have several tests lined up with the flip module, one being a meeting with Phil Bloom and his EX1.

We shell also be demostrating the SGpro's bokeh rendition, and how exactly it differs from other GG elements out there!

There are certainly a few things in the pipe line that we are fired up about, working towards some nice support options and solutions.

They look wonderful on it. Sharper than any nikon prime i've used.
Hi Matty G,
We (and fellows) tested Nikon 17-35 and 80-200mm with Brevis35, Letus EX and SGpro (non flip). My eye have seen the glory.
I can't wait to see the result with SGpro flipmod.

Have you used 24-70mm (new) and 35-70mm? I'll be sure to keep my eyes on it[/SIZE]

and kwan... will call when i get the sgflip up and running.

Timur,
I'll be waiting ...

Kwan,

I do believe they're the sharpest lens out there, perhaps even sharper than the ZF's. But how are they for pulling focus? Is the draw too short or have excessive freeplay. Have you set it up with gears and a Follow Focus. This is important. Rez chart aside it still has to function with actors walking this way and that.

In fact Arri re-housed the 70-200 and the 24-70 for Borne Ultimatum. I'm sure the price of that is way out of most our league.

I got a Z riser. We got a job from the 6 through the 10th. Torn between your flip with Sg or my LEX. Let's test out the system Monday. Kwan, you in?

i cant make it monday. wed is better. i have to get my press pass for the nye times square coverage.
