Has anyone worked with these LTM fixtures before? Would like to know if $2500.00 is a good deal for both these used 2.5k units and ballast? A friend of mine needs money and offered these to me for $2500.00. They seem to work great from what I saw.
:dankk2:

Question?

1. Has anyone used the Lumen Light 2k set as of yet?
2. How do they stand up as far as throwing light?
3. Would they be a better choice for me?

Does this include globes, cable from ballast to heads for each and AC cords for ballasts? Scrims and or lenses for the fixtures?

Just beware that accessories and repairs for lights like these can take your breath away.

At first I thought the thing on the right was a fog machine. :)
Those fixtures new today would be six or eight times more expensive. Maybe just take a chance. Even if you have to combine parts from the two of them to make one working unit you're still saving thousands.

Do you know if these have a magnetic or electronic ballast...?
EB is preferable and MB fixtures often turn up on the bay for a more reasonable price...
Also, 2,5Kw - I hope you have a way to power these babys...

Danger Will Robinson!! Look like the old luxarc LTM's to me, missing a fresnel lens among other things-- take em to a lighting shop and strike em before ya buy em! Puredrifting is right, the head cables alone on 2500 hmi's are 400 bucks or more each. Be careful about used head cables, the pin pattern (actually the wires inside the connector) are different for LTM's. Arri, DeSisti and Sunray/CMC art the same but LTM's are different.

I second all the comments here. Don't buy one of the used ones until you try it. Also, remember that 2500w is 22 amps. That's tough to power on standard commercial or residential circuits.

Stay Far away from these 2.5k systems, this guy has been trying to sell them for a few months on ebay and they both are missing a lot, if they were complete with the missing lens, bulb, barndoors, 1 or 2 head cables, and scrim sets they would be woth a max of $1500 each. But all of those parts will run you well over $2500 to buy from LTM.

If you are still looking in a few weeks, I may be selling some systems off on here. I am considering selling:

2 LTM 1.2k Par systems, sealed beam globe, both are complete with lenses, doors, head cable, globe and mag ballast
2 Arrisun 1.2k Par systems, brand new sealed beam globes in both, head cable, lenses, and mag ballast (no barndoors which you can buy for about $70 extra each new)
1 LTM Luxarc 575w fresnel system, double ended globe, head cable, mag ballast and doors

I have yet to decide pricing but if you are interested, let me know.

That looks like the same light being offered at www.Pyramid-films.com Come to think of it, I too believe I saw them on Ebay..
Anyway, I'm sure this particular light is not a great investment piece. Skip it..

I am still learning about HMIs, appreciate the great feedback. I'm one of those guy who love to have his own. It's a vice. Also I help alot of people locally who have tons of talent but no money to rent, nor own equipment so if I come across the right piece of equipment for the right price I'll get it for my own personal use, and then rent it out to a close circle of friends for a reasonable price which in turn pays for the equipment in time. Its a win, win. I was leaning toward either the Cool Light HMIs, or either the 2k Lumen Lights. I'm still waiting to hear some 1st hand testimonials from some DVXusers. If you know of any links please let me know.

Thanks
