UGH... Desk size and Speakers

I think I am SCREWED...

... for some stupid reason I thought the Event 20/20's would be much shallower...

I am set up facing a corner with an L shaped desk. I have limited space up here and also have a couch I want to keep for clients, other people working on the same project... It will end up getting worse when I am forced to spread them to about 5' when I finally get a production monitor.

The desk itself puts the monitors well behind the face of the speakers further away from me. There would be no way for me to reach the keyboard and mouse even with a 3' triangle and it was suggested I use at least 4'

Should I break the triangle for cutting the audio and then set levels from a momentary solution by a quick re-arrangement and a temporary table to hold the peripherals?

Or should I take more drastic solutions? The problem is that this might not happen easily... I am confined and I do not want to move from this orientation as it seems to offer the most balance and best acoustics.

This would me a 3' triangle... I would have to lean forward and thus not only suffer horrible pain :) but also break the triangle...

and fall two storied to my death... only to not actually die and lie there in severe pain with all sorts of broken stuffs... only to die seconds later when the speaker with the amp in it falls from the hole on the wall and smashes me dead... lol... Roadrunner sequences FTW! lol...

yea... I am looking for actual solutions here... :)

I am so pissed... and saddened... and quite a deal of feeling stupid too... lol...

I hope something strikes at me soon... or I will have an unbalanced setup by setting it up on the long stretch of the table of to the left.. the wall on the right side would reflect a LOT more than the open area off to the right. :(

You seem to be super concerned with the equilateral triangle and while I understand it's importance, I think there are a couple of larger problems facing you.

Do you have bass trapping in your room? If not then anything you do will be seriously hampered by that fact. Second, you have your speakers in a corner, the worst placement for them possible. I would try and fix these two things before you stress too much over having the perfect equilateral triangle.
