Letus Extreme Nikon Mount

not that i should haev to is exactly my point. I need ot know if my unit is defective. but for that to be clear, i need to contact hienle.

I don't want to dable in affairs i don't know much about, including lens mounts, But i do need this issue sorted out.

Luis, my knowledge is based on IRL experience with all those Chinese macro tube mounts and on visual inspection of those adaptors. But even if those are the exact mounts from those Chinese macro tubes one can not modify those mounts easily as those are modified by the adaptor manufacturers already.
I have researched potentially all the OEM mount manufacturers and it`s possibly the most expensive part of a non-PS 35mm adaptor, if it was a quality product. SGpro used some brand name mounts before but the evolution and open source development of all those adaptors have lead to the same (atleast visual) conclusion to use the same Chinese aluminum mounts.
I tend to believe that I was one of the first to introduce this source of the locking lens mounts on the forums about two years ago as well as the EEs and EEa focusing screens from Canon 5D...

Cheers,
T

Since this thread is about Nikon mount on the LEX, I'll throw in my own Nikon problem ...

I just received my adapter. Setup was pretty quick (it was a first time for me...) but I ran into my first problem... After removing a nikkor 55mm from the adapter without problem, I tried a 28mm (nikkor).

Problem is, I can't remove this one

It did make a small click sound when I first put it on, but my guess is that's normal (sounded like a secure pin lock). I tried to turn the lens both ways... no luck. I even removed the nikon mount to get a better grip...

Is there a secure pin or something that I'm not seeing that needs to be push, or a special trick when turning the lens?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Damn, I fell so stupid! It's my first time using 35mm lenses, so yeah, I didn't know! There's a first time to everything...

Thanks Luis!

No problem.
Sounds like your 55mm wasn't set in there securely originally, which is why you were able to just twist it off.
If your lens is mounted correctly you should always hear that 'click' when you twist it on.

Shot my first 35mm adapter images... I'm blown away!! I'll try to post something tomorrow, I gotta go shoot some more!! :) :)

has anyone ever tried removing those four screws? I dont want pieces falling out if i have to DIY.

so i tried unscrewing the screws, removed the cover cap, and i saw the locking pin, it is VERY VERY wobbly inside, no wonder my lens dances in the mount.

I tried the method described earlier in the thread. But no amount of tape seemed to do anything. All it did was make it impossible to put the cap back on and lock a lens on to it...

I'm going to cry :(
