2 questions - is this boompole hokey? And HV20 beachtek adapter question

I haven't seen these two-pronged poles before. Are these hokey or are they okay to use?

Also, I'm shooting with an HV20 and obviously want higher quality audio. Don't have a lot to spend but I figured I'd use a Beachtek adapter for XLR inputs. And I guess then that brings the sound right into the camera, right? Has anybody used one of these setups? And can you recommend a better setup, even it if requires an extra piece. I'm an audio neophyte.

Thanks,
Chris

i would skip that boompole and go with at least the cheapest internal cabled K-Tek pole if you are on a tight budget. I just used one for a 2 week shoot and man that internal cable makes a huge difference IMO.

Sorry i only have experience with a beachtek when i once owned a VX2000. It worked ok but the VXs audio was crappy to begin with.

Articulated poles are designed for ENG applications. They allow for flag pole style boom-oping in medium to CU news shots. Too clunky and heavy for standard boom applications.

Cheers

Ya, forget about that pole. For the same price..K-tek Avalon.
For the BeachTek....DXA-2s Those 2 items will outlast that camera.
Don't think about buying Azden. Don't do it.
