Dark Side of the Camera
My HVX came without a mattebox - I mean not even the factory sunvisor.
It looked kind of .... ahh well, castrated.
It may sound strange - but I got that theory.
Man realy suffer from inadequate equipment.
Take a car. For a woman it`s only a tech thing that brings her from A to B.
For a man a car is like an exo-skelleton - an extension of his own body.
And who wants to extend his body with a Honda huh?
Thats why SUVs are everybodys favourite - actualy nobody "needs" a SUV.
So what do Honda driver do? They ad big ass exhaust tubes - so they got an adequate extension.
What do camera owners? They buy the biggest mattebox they can find and put it in front of the lens plus some frenchflags and whatnot.
Now I got that railsupport and big mattebox and belive it or not - the response is unbeliveable. The HVX morphes from a "home video camera" to a professional piece of Hollywood equipment in the eyes of direktors and actors.
Little do they know about cameras but the bigger the mattebox the better the camera.....
... and the DP.
