Edius and 2 mics

Haven't really been in situation with 2 mics (in Edius, had Liquid earlier) and HVX P2 files. Can anyone give quidelines how to set up editing audio in this situation. Have a project where I need to adjust these mics separately. The Voice folder in CONTENT has 4 files for each clip, but don't have a control yet how to get them editable in EDIUS. The choices for audiotrack setup seems endless....

Import the HVX clip as normal.

There's a little "A" button next to the track label. A drop-down will let you select which audio channel you want to "land" on that audio track when you bring a new clip into the timeline.

Once you set up what you want to land where (note: it won't change anything in the timeline, so you must set up the "targeting" before you drag the clip in), drag the clip into the timeline and you'll see the audio "split off" from the video as you have defined.

The EDIUS training site has a better explanation.

Yes, sort of got idea last night also. Takes time to change logics from sort of simple Liquid...

One remark though - is it possible to have both (1,2 and 3,4 also) at the same time on timeline? Would be convient to be able to swicht from one to another on the go.

To have all four channels on the timeline, simply click on the "A" simble on the timeline and assign your audio channels.

For example:

1. On track 4VA click "A" and scroll down to Monaural channel 1 1 and click on it.
2. Track 3VA, do the same and scroll down to Mon. channel 2 2 and click.
3. Track 2VA, assign Mon channel 3 3
4. Track 1VA, assign Mon channel 4 4

Now, drag your Vodeo/audio clip on to any track and the 4 audio channels will automatically drop into the 4 tracks that you've assigned. If you assigned your recorded audio into all 4 channels during your shoots, you should see waveforms on all four tracks, etc. Just remember to mute out or delete the channel that you don't want when you're ready to export.

Other note: If you don't assign any specific channels to the tracks, Edius will automatically assign both channels 1 & 2 into one track as stereo.

Hope this helps.
