Follow Focus Accessories for Redrock M2 Micro and other questions

This is the kit I bought recently

Will I need anything else to attach this to my Cartoni Focus Head? Is there a plate out there that offers more support to attached lenses?

What do I need to achieve follow focus?

If I ever move to an HVX, will I be able to purchase a an adapter, or will I have to buy an HD bundle?

1) no. Be aware that the screws for the tripod plate are in the baseplate. This can make the rig very front heavy.
2) you can buy lens supports that attach to the rods
3) a follow focus + gears
4) you will need the HD Achromatic lens

also, if you're going with the redrock the suggested hardmount kit should really be mandatory.
 
What does hardmount mean? Why do you suggest it? Will that make transportation difficult?

they will sell you an hd achromat if u upgrade to HVX, the guys at redrock are cool.the baseplate on the focus is kinda flimsy...always make sure it is tight with a coin...specially if you have a lot of camera movemnt.
 
Thanks for warning me. I don't have a lot of accessories, but if I see a potential problem with the weight distribution, I'll find a solution.
