Am I copying Tarentino?

Como's back. back again
I like his style, and i loved the movie Death proof. And planet terror (I no rodriguez directed that, so maybe this question applies to him also)

I like the old effect they add to the video, the skippyness, the choppyness, the noise, the scratches, all the good stuff. If i made a movie, and it kinda fit this mood, can i do all that jazz to my movie? OR would it be really bad, and played out since it's already been done?

All depends on the movie.
Concentrate on making a good film first - then, if it happens to fit the style of the piece, worry about that stuff in post.
 
So if I did all of that Luis, and it did fit the style, It wouldn't look bad, or wrong, that I did the same style, and edit?

What Luis said, also realize that the Death proof effects are not necessarily Tarentino's style so much as him recreating a genre and bad film editing from the 70's Grind house films. So in essence you wouldn't be taking his style at all, just check out those older films and see what you can come up with from that.
 
Ok, thanks guys. On this topic, where can I get these effects? Should I make them? Is there any free plug-ins?
