Letus Extreme 80-200 & 50m Tests

HVX 200 with LEtus Extreme using 2 Nikon 50mms and a Nikon 80-200 at 4 Stops!!!! I shot this at around 5 pm Los Angeles time, so it was pretty dark.

I am getting a proper 35mm 1.4 in 2 days so I will psot more tests with that. These tests I have been doing have been on lenses that cost like 50 to 110 bucks, so I am really liking experimenting with any lenses I can find.

We could only sneek one light out onto the middle of the street, we did want to get busted before we got to try all of the lenses haha

So this time the cameras Iris was set at 2.4, and I think things came out much better.

I LOVE THIS THING

nice job. thanks for posting. are your next tests going to be in this same thread?

Man that's some nice looking footage. This adapter looks really good for sure. Has it been easy to set up? Make any noise?

SHe might need some model/trampy hair flipping classes... that one with hair all over the face is priceless..

Test shots look great Chad!

I noticed the bokeh in the background lights - they seem to be perfectly round/circular. Others have mentioned that perhaps they may tend to be more "octagonal".

Now that I'm working with the Extreme I start to notice these things more - Like last night when I watched "Robocop" - the bokeh in the downtown Detroit shots were perfectly circular too!

they only stay circular if you leave your lens wide open. Close down one sto and they become less donut like, having less of a hot spot in the middle, and more of a sharp even bokeh.

Hi all:

Nice footage.

Bokeh is also function of how many iris blades a lens has. Octagonal shaped bokeh is usually a result of fewer blades, round is usually a function of more blades. In photographic terms, usually higher priced lenses have more iris diaphragm blades.

You can research which lenses have which amount of blades usually on photo review sites, the reviewers usually say how many a lens has.

Cheaper lenses seem to have 6-7 blades, more expensive lenses seem to mostly have 8-10 blades.

Thanks for all the response guys! I think these cheap lenses are whats doing me. Once I get the 35, I will repost. and No, I will probably post in a new thread , unless told otherwise....

Thanks! VEry easy to setup. Its has a light hum but nothing you can hear from a half a foot away. more ike a slight vibration. Very easy to setup. Just attach the adapter, Focus on the ground glass, then attach your lens, frame and focus and shoot!

I think i like them full solid like what the 80-200 gives me. The ones that have that Haze around them are from that cheap ass 50mm lens i am about to kick out of the window. So you see less bokeh in the close up 80mm slo motions than in the 50mm ??

I am till a little unsure about how to tell while I am shooting.

So i can get rid of that haze by stopping down? It seems to be hazy no matter what. . . I think I am just using too cheap of lenses...
