Cinevate rails + letus

Hey just a question - do the Cinevate rails have enough height offset to properly mount the letus economy adaptor? I got the indirails at first, but they weren't high enough for me to use it with my gear-dear lens support. As a result I'm in the market for a new set of rods. Any recommendations?

yes. i have it with the extreme and it works, so no doubt about the economy.

Oh - it has enough offset to mount a mattebox? According to the specs on my geardear lens support, it's supposed to be built for the 'standard' offset of 85mm from rails to lens center

the neat thing about the cinevate rails, is that the piece that mounts the camera ( raising platform ) can be mounted uptside down to add an additional inch and a bit. Which is more than enough to mount a mattebox.

Oh? I don't understand....I don't really see how cinevate rails work - i mean the picture on their site is pretty vague, and i've seen very few rigs using it.

If it doesn't work, you can always shoot for the Zacuto baseplate and their Z-Riser. A little more expensive option (I can get you a break with them if you want) but it's sure versatile.

Heh...a 'little' more expensive....Could you PM me what realistic rates are? The tip top I'm willing to spend is actually around 350 bucks, since with that amount i can get the Cavision tailored for Letus setup, which is theoratically a garunteed fit. Although Zacuto looks really alluring...If it's not too much more i might seriously consider it as soon as i resolve my cashflow issues.

Can you see how the baseplate movings vertically depending on your needs.

Mmmm yeah I get that - Thanks alot for taking the effort to put that together! I just didn't understand what Papa meant by 'turn it upside down'.

The Z-Riser is around $330
Thing is... you have to have rails.

For one thing is... I've never heard bad comments from a Zacuto owner. It's solid equipment and awesome and customizable.

On the other hand, Dennis does have a very unique option that definitely will work for your current needs. I just don't know about balancing issue. Zacuto's really good about balance.
