Cant lay to tape (Sony VX2100)

In Final Cut Express I can't "Print to Video". I've got a 4:30 minute video that I can't lay to a Sony VX2100. i think it's more a problem with the camera. All the features seem to work in Final Cut, but I cant hit the record button on the camera, it does nothing when I do that. Any thoughts? Anything is appreciated.

I am guessing it could be your device preset. If you are doing it over Firewire then this is the case... When you do a Print to Video I suggest checking the little box that says "automatically start recording". But actually before that make sure that your device preset is setup for DV/NTSC and Firewire NTSC. If those settings are like that and you check that little box all you have to do is make sure your tape is in the right spot and hit "OK" in the Print to Video window. (you have to hit ok one more time when it asks you if you are sure you want to print to video, something to that tune) Then it will go to that full screen mode on the computer and should start recording on the camera and when it is done it will stop.

Give that a try. I have a VX2000 and haven't run into this problem before so it's worth a shot. Let us know what happens.
