Hello every one, What a frustrating delima I am in right now. I know there are mult. thread on things similar to this, but because they are spread out all over the place, I wanted to get all my questions answered in one hit. I am currently shooting with a dvx100b, love it but when HD get more popular, I am going to be upgrading to a new cam, hopefully something solid state from canon or pany... but before that i I have been wanting to get an 35mm adapter. My heart has been set on the Brevis for the lat 8 months, and now that i am getting down to the date to when i want to purchase one, I have got to thinking, I really want to be able to shoot at high shutter speed, Some o my upcoming films ask for it and i want to be able to achieve these shot with at least 1/500th of a second. I know my pany is maxed out at 1/1000th but Im thinking the newer cameras like the EX or something in the future of canon or panny. might be up to 1/2000th of a second. So my question is I need an adapter with a spinning element correct? the only 2 to have that is the m2 or the SGpro. I have used the m2 before abut the thing i hate about it is the poor time that it take to set it up... I have never even seen an SGpro in person and have only head good thing about it. Now is the letus extreme a spinning or agitated element? Im going to the DVexpo on the 6th and red rock will be there, I will give them a lot of questions while im there and ill try them out. If any one has any experience trying high shutter speed with there brevis , how bad does the grain get? any there opting will be great. Thanks
Jon

So far the SGpro does the best job on high shutter speeds. I'm not sure on 1/2000th, I kinda doubt that but have not yet tested this. Setup time should be the same as with the M2.

Agitated? lol....

NO adapter will let you shoot at 1/1000.... You will see grain. Except for maybe the go35 and the Movie tube. they are static adapters and arent affected by shutter speed, only Apeture brings out their grain.

the letus is a Vibrating adapter.

That high of a shutter speed is going to be a problem to any adapter. but needless to say, I recommend the SGpro over the M2 for sure!

Those type of shutter speeds are only going to work with a static adapter, like Timur said. MovieTube or Go35. And the Go35 is apparently only really adequate for standard-def, so that means the only one on the market (that I can think of) that might be suitable for your needs would be the MovieTube, which is around $5,000 for the least-expensive version.

the go35 is ok for 720. But in 1080 it shows a tiny bit of grain. once down ressed to DVD though, the grain vanishes.

after 1/250th does grain come apparent? Im going to be at the DVexpo in la, ill just go to red rock with my dvx or if the have an hvx and just look at the differences there. thanks
