Doctor Who: Time Crash

Damn straight.

Caught this on Childrens in Need on Friday, quite a nice little episode. Some who watch may hate me for it but i still believe David Tennant is the best doctor, though it was good to see both doctors acting skills along side in some sense.

Was a great mini episode, and by my favourite Doctor Who writer to. They film the series in my hometown Swansea, and up the road a little in the capital city of Wales, Cardiff.

Always see them shooting or hear about it, they shot the christmas episode: Voyage of the Damned here a month or so ago. Kyle and Tennant went into this building which they transformed the insides to be like Titanic. It was apparently rather epic. It was an old 2-3 story office building that was due for demolition or rent i think. Big difference between the two.

Anyway, great series. Loved the Season three finale's. Seen some of the shooting for that to.

: edit : actually there was a Darlick outside the local tesco's on the other day, my mate there got a pic of it on his phone since he works there. he got a crap angle and such but it shows the main thing there. i'll see if i can get it off him.

Tom Baker will always be "the" Doctor, to me...

...but I dig David Tennant, too. He's probably my second-favorite.

Sorry, favourite.

Oh, come on!

Leela's tight little buckskin one-piece?

"Can I kill him now, Doctor?!"

Only companion cool enough, to have a Futurama character named for her!

That said, Martha's a photo-finish second.

You changed the desktop theme to the Tardis! Lmao!

And yes, I like Martha. He finally found one with some smarts, and didn't run around lost without him. She did outsmart the Master. Name one occasion Leela or any of the others that did that.

Martha? Kay.. -Blocks-

That's the most ultimate insult to humanity. She's not that good. Wait till you see Cath Tate. Then I'll change my mind and say she's the worst. No way is she gonna make a good assistant. Hated the xmas special with her in it.

Davison's my favorite.

Second is Pertwee.

Next is McCoy.

Then Tom Baker.

Then Tennant.

Troughton, Hartnell, Eccleston, and Colin Baker round out the bottom.

McGann is just a blip.

I do like Martha very much, much better than the uber-whiny Rose.

But does anyone remember Peri in a bikini?

Mmmph.

#1 Tom Baker

#2 David Tennant

#3 John Pertwee

#4 Sylvester McCoy

#5 Christopher Eccleston

#6 William Hartnell

#7 Patrick Troughton

#8 Peter Davison

#9 Colin Baker

Paul McGann's Doctor was almost extra-canonical. But he's done good stuff, elsewhere...

Rose was okay, as companions go. Needed too much rescuing, should have kicked more ass, and from certain angles was all teeth and eyeballs. But there's been worse.

I wouldn't mind seeing Martha in a bikini...

And Colin Baker was a very dark spot in the Doctor's history. I can't say that I've watched more than a couple of his episodes.

One thing I'll say about Martha, though, is that I didn't think anyone's mother could be more annoying than Rose's. But hers managed to do it.

My favorites are Tom Baker and Peter Davison...although I do like David Tennant...I like the new stories but miss the old cliffhangers.

I like leela the best...also peri (when she wasn't talking, as a matter of fact I don't really recall her from the neck up)...

Not as much of a who fan as I was in high school (member of two clubs and many visits to festivals...have patrick troughton and colin baker autographs) however I do currently have the theme song as my phones ringtone and I have a button and picture of tom baker on my office bulletin board.

BTW, I'm 41 and do not live in my parents basement :)

There was talk at the time Eccleston was leaving the part that Bill Nighy was being considered.

He would have been a good choice. Still could be.

Well DT is doing it till 2010 i believe, but there doing this season [2008]. Then having 3 episodes in 2009. Probably 4, a season thing to give everyone a break. Then it's gonna continue like that every year. On / Off.

Actually, that's because Tennant is off doing Hamlet with Patrick Stewart. And God, do I want to see that... :)

"Time Crash" was fun, but somewhat (to use its own term) "undramatic" in that nothing really happened. I know, they only had like seven minutes, which is why I've been saying ever since it was announced, "what's the point?" Now, if they'd brought Davison in for the Christmas special or another full episode, then you might have something. I also thought it was odd that, pretty much everything Tennant said in the "my Doctor" speech could have applied to Tom Baker as well. Not to say that Davison was doing the same schtick as Baker, by any means, just that the stuff mentioned in the speech was common to both of them. Still, Peter Davison was the first Doctor that I watched regularly, when I first really got into the show back in the mid-80's (in reruns on my local PBS station), so it's always good to see him turn up.

As I've been watching the new Who, I've decided to totally phase out the concept of having a "favorite" Doctor, and just group them as "great" and "good." (Since I haven't seen a bad one yet.) Tennant easily joins Tom Baker, Peter Davison, and Sylvester McCoy in the "great" category; I haven't yet made up my mind about Eccleston. I see a lot of the same aspects in his character that I remember from the Colin Baker and Jon Pertwee eras, the sort of automatic assumption of superiority that often comes across as arrogance --and yeah, I know he actually is superior :), but I think that's one of the reasons that Tom Baker gets so much love, particularly on this side of the pond, because he was the first to really (and you should pardon the expression) "humanize" the Doctor.
