Check out the sale these guys have on. You get libraries for $99 which is much, much cheaper than regular price. Royalty Free music, sound fx, editor's toolkit etc. Right now I'm very nealy going to buy a couple (probably a sfx and a music). can anybody comment on these products?

Yeah, most the stuff is at least $300 and some things have rrp of $499. I listened to some of the music and seems very well done, check out the Film section of the second music volume.

I purchased an Editor's Toolkit from a member here for about the same price - so this is a good deal, straight from the manufacturer.

I've now got a few of the toolkits which give a nice "pro" look to your work. Also have 4 of their music "stacks", each offering about 20 songs with each song having 4 durations.

A nice feature is being able to browse through the contents of the other products you DON'T own. This way you can see all of the effects, wipes, songs, etc. that you may want to purchase.

Just to keep this in the spirit of realism... they run deals ALL the time. Deals like this on the "bigger products" are more rare, but this isn't quite as amazing as they'd have you believe. Yes, it's a good price... probably as good a price as you'll ever see on the VideoTraxx stuff and the SoundEffects series... but the Editor's Toolkits have been cheaper in the past.

So on the VideoTraxx and Sound Effects... yes, great deals... worthy of buying, but it's not like you should lose your head over it.

I've freqented that site since August... and at that time I was easily pulled into the "hype" style of marketing that they have over there... after a while you start to get rational about all of it... but yes, this is a good time to buy these things if they appeal to you.

Last year they did some crazy sales around Xmas time... but I don't think they've ever got much lower then this on SOME of this stuff... believe it or not the ETKs were as cheap as $49.95 at one time... just for a few days.

The smartest thing to do is to watch the site and get a feel for the bottom line on prices there... then have some things picked out ahead of time... so that when they go on a good sale you can buy them. Right now the video and sfx series are good to buy... the Backtraxx are ok, but I think the StackTraxx are a better music product... and again, the ETK series isn't nearly as low as I've seen it go in the past.

Just keep it in perspective... trust me you can get caught up in the sales tactics over there. I may buy VideoTraxx 3 this weekend... I MIGHT... but I haven't decided yet.

Thanks a lot Matt. Yes the StackTraxx are a brilliant idea (you can add and minus instruments from the compositions) but there's not too many of them on a cd, I think I'll just go for the volume of the Backtraxx for now.

I see what you mean by the marketing on the site - definately sucks you in.

Cheers

Ian
