UK broadcast short film shot today on extreme

Did my first broadcast project with the extreme. It's being broadcast on Channel 5 next week. Almost all talking heads but it worked really well. Very pleased.

Here are a few raw stills, no colour correction. The lady has a lazy eye so you she can't lock onto the camera which is a shame. I will be editing over the weekend. It will be broadcast sometime mid week I think.

The man is red faced but that is how he looked. I will cc him in post and make him look a lot healthier!

Hi Richard

It's for five news, part of my Anorexia series that you can see on my website. I am also making it into a half hour doco for TX in jan/feb on Sky Real Lives.

I won't know when it is going out until Monday

What's going on with all that excessive red on the guy's face? It looks like he just survived a car wreck and he landed on his head. Or is that his real skin tone?

Jgastelb

Jgastelb - looks like the guy has Rosacea. Hopefully when the colour correction is done the redness won't be so apparent. In the UK we're on SD on channel 5 so a lot of that Rosacea detail may disapear after CC/

Phil, I'll look out for that - thanks!

Richard

that's his face! he has the face of a drinker. I will tone it down as much as I can. This is real life doco stuff not make up studio/ drama.

Shot on the Z1

Well in my experience the Z1 does blow up reds a little bit. It's why I never film with that camera anymore, but it has lots of other good features of course. But I am sure you can do something about it with cc.

cc'd him an he looks much better!

Love the fact that you can zoom in a bit into the gg with no noticeable drop in resolution!

Love the shallow dof really recommend spending extra to get zeiss glass. Noticeably sharper than my nikon

Looks great!

What did you use to get the movement into the kitchen? Also it looks like you were using a Lensbabie or tiltshift lens on that move. Is that the case or was the blur done in post?

As always, great work. I hope the BBC is making you a rich man...
