Video tearing issue with Leopard solved?

On the apple forums somebody reported that the video tearing in FCP and other applications on the new MBP's has been solved with Leopard. Can somebody confirm this? I want to buy a MBP but only if the issue has been solved...

looks like they solved the problem in Leopard. Bought a new MBP today (bought one and retuned it 2 moths ago because of the video tearing) and everything looks fine so far :)

This has been an issue for some of us with new Macbook Pros

The screen seems to update with some frames coming half with part of the previous frame still visible on part of the screen, this is especially visible when the camera moves around a lot.

The problem is not in the file itself, only in how the footage appears when viewed.

I have not yet updated to leopard and still have it, are there some guys out there with new Macbook pros that didn't get this problem.

Seems to me after reading all those threads -- it's a heat-sync issue.

Maybe the question you should be asking is: Has Leopard fixed the Macbook heat sync issue that is showing up on some machines?

Have you tried giving it some air under the machine?
