has anyone ever dreamed an entire film before?

Looking for a woman
last night i dreamed a short film. it was really strange because it was the type of movie that i wouldn't do in real life. i woke up this morning and could remember the plot, but only snippets of the dialogue. has anyone else experienced this?

I once dreamt a film... literally had a soundtrack and opening title sequence.
It was a very bizarre experience, because it was just like watching a movie.
I wasn't in it, and neither was anyone i knew.

I still remember the plot too.
Although (and this is not a joke) I never found out how it ended because my roommate came home and I woke up when he shut the door.
It was in the middle of a chase sequence at the time.

My advice to you Ugafan, stop what ever you're doing and begin writing NOW!!, but only if it was a good film.

I too had dreams about entire movies, it felt so real, and the best part is the originality of it all, and when I woke up I said you know what, I'm going to turn this into a film, next thing u know a couple of days or so go by and I never wrote anything down and now I can't remember what the movie/dream was about, I had a couple of those dreams. But I think one of them I actually wrote the log line down soon as I woke up, I got it stored somewhere.

I wonder if that's the method Kevin Costner use to come up with Waterworld?

I dreamed a scene in a film. From there I wrote it down and came up with a whole film, however I ended up cutting out the scene that I originally dreamed.

I might still put it in, but it's not even a film I'd do. It's a romantic/dark film. I might be interested in doing it, but I dunno.

I had a dream once, that I thought would be a killer SciFi flick. I wrote it down and went back to bed. The next morning, I woke up and reread "Quilt Wars". Obviously the fever had broken since I wrote it down, and it really wasn't that good.

more like your cellmate getting thrown in the tank waking you by the same cops that were chasing you while you were speeding trying to get away while drinking your fifth of whiskey, needless to say, in court you pleaded the fifth...................

I've dreamed entire films before. Then I wake up and think "That's amazing! I'm a genius! That'll be a great film!" then I became more awake and thought "Wait a minute... that's a terrible idea for a film."

yes i dreamt i was making a film and i was the director, D.P., PRODUCER and star of the whole movie....man it was me and the rest of the actors all four of them............four hot babes!....................but alas it was a very short film!.......four minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose not everyone is cut out to do porn... ;)

I do it quite often. I keep a notebook and lighted pen by the bed so when I wake up I can write it down. I also have a tape recorder but a lot of times it just sounds like I'm mumbling, so I prefer to write it down.

In the morning, however, I find that it wasn't nearly as interesting as I thought it was when I first woke up. On the other hand, I HAVE found the answers to some sticking points in things I was working on. I'm currently laying out a feature and had a point I couldn't get past in the plotting. I woke up at 3:00 in the morning with an A-HA moment, wrote it down and went back to sleep. The next morning I was able to continue my plotting because of what I came up with in my sleep.

I guess what I'm saying is that usually the movies I dream aren't as good when I read what I've written down BUT there are always some nuggets that find their way into things I'm writing.

i dreamt i was a catapillar and when i awoke i was just a slug, slithering along a human shoe had squashed me like a bug, i awoke once again and to my horror i would find, i was a butterfly struggling to free myself from this sticky net of twine, when i looked up above me an eight legged creature was dancing on the net, i yelled help me, help me! don't let that thing eat me! but no one heard me yet, then three humans passing by heard my screaming cries, alas they come to save me...........oh sh-it it's Vincent Price.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................man i got a headache

I dreamed about a fight between a kung-fu master straight out of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and Spider-man once. The viewpoint switched between first person and second. Let me tell you, Spidey is an @$$hole.

I actually get 99 percent of my idea's from dreams. I have had several short stories published that were dream inspired. And I am currently writing a novel that I dreamed. I always write them down. They are the most original things you never thought you could think of. And still somehow you can make sense of them all. The mind is a powerful thing.

that is so true, and it is just me or in those dreams do dialogue flow much smoother, better than when you actually write them down, if only you can remember those dialogue.

i never had until recently. this past month i've had 3 like that. they all seemed like great ideas during, but upon later inspection they sound terrible. one of them i was even able to change characters and take back the twist ending and redo it. weird... if only they were good ideas...

vincent price crushing peter lorey with a rock when he is in the web of a spider in the FLY. hence the headache..........................ANYBODY......ANYBODY.........OH WELL.......I AMUSE MYSELF.

Yes, with Halle Berry, just before my wife woke me up :)

No, I have, several times, and ended up writing a couple (a feature and a television drama), of them into entire screenplays.
