Extreme Riser - read this if you have Cavision parts...

Dan, When I try that link I get this

"Lenilenapi, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Am I some kind of second class citizen here. Can other people use this?

There might be a minimum post count before you can upload files. Relay them to me and I'll get them up.

overland, do you mind typing up the pieces used to create that rig u have there with the dual rails thing and mattebox?

Lenny, your not in the WGA are you? Thought the producers may have set it up so a writer couldn't access it. ;-)

It works fine for me, Overland probably has it right, you might need to be a senior member or something?

Dan

PaPa,

We'll be listing that complete 5x5 system over the next few days. It'll be a full package with the mini-dv set-up featuring dual rods (all 15mm), swing-away arm and rods, mattebox, French flag, rubber adapter ring and so forth.

The best part about this one, that we're going to market for both HPX and HVX specifically, is that it'll work well for DOF and 2/3" systems with very minor additional parts required to make the switch between systems.

PM me and I'll get you more information.

Hi all:

FWIW, I spoke with Zacuto this morning. The Z-Riser is not yet available, it won't be for 3-4 weeks and when it is available, it will cost U.S. $330.00. A little expensive for those of us with $500.00 matte boxes, no?

Jason, any idea when we can actually purchase the new risers for our existing Cavision mounts? I know you are on it. I have two shoots coming up with exteriors and I really need to use my matte box.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan, worst case take your old ones to a machine shop, tell them you want them like this except 'yay big' and they will make them. It's not rocket science - hell, you can make them yourself out of 1/4" aluminum. I got mine free from a local welding shop, a little scrap piece.

is this newly manufactured or available right now?

does it have a cavision serial number?

would like to order it from within the US. :) last time I ordered directly from you guys, fedex 2 day shipping was quite a bit. and I would need this ASAP....

The model number is the RSV-15.

Its not newly manufactured, it was piece that we already had available and used with a different rods support system. , and we just connected the two to come up with a solution for more height. We are working on adding an additional support riser at the back (shown in this link) - http://www.cavision.com/rods/minidvFF.htm - But the riser we have isn't long enough for the added height we gained with the RSV-15, we should have something shortly.

I don't know if anyone is going to have it in stock though.

Hi Jason:

This is the same setup I bought from you recently http://www.cavision.com/rods/minidvFF.htm

Yes, please let us know when the rear support is available! Do you think I am safe temorarily with an HVX-200 just using the front support until the rear support is available? I really liked the idea of the extra stability that the rear support offers, that's why I went with that model.

Thanks,

Dan

how much longer you think until that additional back riser will be available?

I have it available now, we figured it out. You'll need a rear bracket and longer t-riser - 50.00USD to make up for the height from the RSV-15, as well as a wedge -10.00 USD - that is to be added to the top of the riser.

ok, just to clarify, all together the upgrade is 100 USD?

$ 40 for the additional piece in the front
$ 50 for the back brcket and longer t-riser
$ 10 for the extra wedge

is the wedge just a little extension or how can I picture it in my mind?

thanks Jason for all your answers!

thanks Jason. I really appreciate it!

it would be helpful to see that wedge, just so I have an idea.
once I know what it looks like, I will put in an order.

Dan - Of Course you'll be safe. Geez - I invite anyone around here to comeover and manhandle my camera. I don't need a rear support, and neither will you. If you want one, no prob, but it is not even remotely unstable.
