Question about Indie focus new Speed Crank...

Hi,

Did any one here bought the new speed crank and new whip for the indi focus site.

Does the new whip have a standard square opening at the wheel to fit the speed crank or is it close like the old whip ?

I would like to use the speed crank both the follow focus wheel and sometimes on the whip

There are no pictures of how the speed or new whip looks like on thier site.. I assume for $20 it is made out of plastic

Hopefully mine should be in tommorow, so I'll let you know, if not, it might be monday.

But, taken from their sight:

"...12 inch whip handle with the new industry standard snap in square mount..."
 
thanks, I'll like to know if the end of the whip has a square mount, so that you can add the speed crank on it
 
oh I see what you're saying. Mine didn't show up yesterday as I was hoping, so hopefully I'll be able to let you know on monday if the whip has the square opening or not
 
Hello David,

I took delivery of everything today and the whip does NOT have a square hole for the speed crank.

The wrench is made of steal. And took some pictures for ya;



This one is little homemade, because I thought it was to long at first, so I sawed it of with some centimetres. But now I find it useful.
 
Thanks, It looks solid. Another question. The shape looks hexagon , does it fit to a standard square follow focus mount?
 
No it wont. Either Tim has to release a rev.2 Speedcrank or you will have to stay with the old handle.

I would also like to know, specifically, what whip can be purchased to allow a speed crank to be used on it. I noticed Bob was using his speed crank on the whip he was using for the Art of Pulling Focus tutorial on FreshDV. Does anyone know what whip that was and where to get it?
