Problem: do read on..
I shot at the 24p setting on the dvx100b, and imported my footage with normal NTSC sesttings, which seem to be the only ones available. Yet, every few frames appear to have the interlace effect, and, the idea of 24p is a non-interlaced progressive image running at 24 frames per second - and such quality just doesn't seem to be the case.
The interlacing is even more pronounced when I export it to DVD - when viewed on a television or in a DVD player, the interlacing occurs in huge horizontal blocks that make the movie unviewable.
What can I set up in Final Cut PRO or on the Camera to get a timeline and footage running at 24p with no 'i' effects? Either to correct the problem on the timeline, to address the problem before my next movie is imported and edited, or to alter something in exporting the final product. I'm not even positive what's wrong, or if anything can be done..
I'd appriciate any help I could get. Thanks.
