Hi there,

I've got Sony DCR-PC1000E - Capture from camcorder (DV) to computer at 25p mode.....

Now i'm wondering what's the best way to convert whole footage from 25p into 24p, footage and audio must work together at same time

I'm trying to make more like film-look :love4:

What did it look like before?

Before:

Original footage - The movements is kinda fast, where I can see people walking around but not smooth enough from the footage

After:

Slow down to 6% - The movments is really smooth from that I can see people walking around and car's movements...

Result:

Burn to DVD, result was really bad becuse of jittering movements - I dont know why looks great on PC but not on TV :embarasse

Now:

I burn a DVD again at normal speed, looks great on TV but still i can see fast movements...

I'm going crazy here! that's because I'm trying to achieve 24p film looks. I've seen some people who capture at 25p and convert into 24p smooth motion by doing post prodution method i've no idea how they do it, look like I'll need your help from time to time :) 25p to 24p

Best Regards

I am not sure that I understand what you are trying to achieve here. It kind of is determined by what you think "film- look" is.

If you shot 25p and edited in a 25p timeline project - all should be good.

Slowing footage by 6% is only creating a faux slomo effect which will have frame blending applied to make up the information. This could be an issue when encoding.

Personally, I don't think its worth the trouble, but if you want to wind up with 24fps then you need to slow down by 4%, not 6%

6% will give you 23.5fps
4% will give you 24fps

24/25 = .96
