great movies with one(or very few) locations

look at movies based on plays. Location is one of Aristotle's 3 unities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_unities

here are some good ones:

12 Angry Men (lumet)
Long Day's Journey Into Night (lumet)
Fugitive Kind (lumet)
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (nichols)
Arsenic and Old Lace (capra)
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (brooks)
Streetcar Named Desire (kazan)

One of the things you might notice is that most of the movies that make great use of a single (or very few) locations were originally plays. Check out TheMacB list above and add to that Glengarry Glen Ross as another example that has been listed several times.

Not exactly a great film - but 'Death and the Maiden' is another one that comes to mind - much like ClosetLand - the majority of the film is in one location, with just 2 main actors.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Nearly all of it takes place on the Enterprise bridge and the Reliant bridge, which were the same set.

Lifeboat.

Rear Window. (Already stated by akaJack)

The Thing.

STAG

kept me entertained. they only used one house.

it was about a guy who comes home and finds that his friends have thrown him a surprise bachelor party with two strippers. during the party one of the strippers accidentally gets killed when the boys get too rough and they hold the other stripper hostage from calling the cops until they can get their story straight and they end up trying to stab each other in the back. unpredictable.

Unless you saw Very Bad Things, or knew a bit about the plot, then the film seems like a lower budget, just as crappy movie.

Wasn't Mario Van Peebles in that? Loved him in Jaws 4...

Two Girls and A Guy...one house, two girls, one strong performance by Downey....one mediocre movie.

Yeah yeah yeah...12 Angry Men is the perfect answer...

Someone beat me to mentioning Rear Window. Even though today some consider it to be one of Hitchcock's weakest movies, Rope is a super cool - most taking place in one room.
