7" external monitor - best value?

I'm using a 35mm adapter. I'm looking for a 7" budget external, camera mountable monitor for my Panasonic DVC30. I'm familiar with the 7" Varizoom with flip/mirror, but for $450 I heard there is better value elsewhere. I need something portable (uses a battery) - if it can somehow draw power from my DVC30 that would be ideal.

Also, if it doesnt have a flip/mirror function, and it doesnt have the standard 1/4" mounting hole, how do I mount the thing upside down?

I dont need HD. Also, 4:3 required, but 4:3 with 16:9 capability is preferred.

What's the best value currently available?

Thanks in advance.

Lilliput 7" non-touchscreen monitor... I think this might be the best SD production monitor without the fancier bells and whistles. It kicks my DVX monitor to the curb!
Beware the "touchscreen" version is too soft!
I got the 619GL-70NP / C Model and it has the 1/4"-20 mount/ 4:3 and 15:9 switchable. Good Brightness

Also, it looks like Lilliput monitors dont have batteries. The use AC or car a charger. Am I missing something?

How do you mount the Lilliput upside down?

I mount mine with the noga arm. Youll need to modify a connector to power the Monitor, but that shouldnt be too hard. How would you transfer power from your DVC-30? I dont know that camera. But any 12v battery will power the monitor... you'll have to investigate that one on your own as I doubt you shoot in the same manner as I. You can get more info here---> http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=103949

oh lookie what I found: http://cgi.ebay.com/LILLIPUT-7-TFT-...ryZ67771QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

Yes I know, very weak resol for the type of quality signal we're talking about. I just wanted to run the link by the board since somebody ran this monitor by me.

And I want to also learn to and get best affordable product myself.

Bwest, How do you power it? Do you have to get Battery Packs? (not attractive) or Can the camera power it on? (very attractive)

Having to find a special mount for battery packs not only is a pain, costs extra $$ but adds more weight to a very busy rig.

tibobjerome, Read the link Im giving in my second post, its a little work but youll learn a lot about lcd monitors. If you can attach a battery to your monitor, then you can attach a battery to the lilliput. I shoot on a rig, with a huge battery that runs my laptop, cam, mixer, condenser mics and maybe a ring light... as well as the monitor. Im not designed for handheld, which gets a little tuff with a 200mm nikon on the camera
