NEW 1024x768 HD Monitor

Wow you did it. That's great. Congratulations on this. I know how hard it is to finish a project where your trying to lower the price on something. It's unusual to get sympathy from existing manufacturers to help out too. Just take perseverance and the last 10% is usually the toughest on all projects--even filmmaking.

Yeah, finally did it Richard. I'm in that 10% right now, ok maybe 5% left. but will just iron out the battery issues and I'll be on my way.
Thanks,
Luis

Hey Johan,

yes, I'm about to put my web site up to start taking orders. I'm just finishing the battery options first.

Will keep you guys updated.

Thank you,

Luis

Hi Richard,
Yes you did miss the price. Its a long post, so I don't blame you. Its so hard to keep up with all this information.
Well, I'll have an introductory price at first and see how that goes. the price might go up afterwards.

the introductory price for the Component RGB model will be around around $1250. (I just have to figure out lables and commission by paypal)

The introductory price for the Component and (1) HD-SDI model will be around $1550 and probably $1675 for (2) HD-SDI.

Lead time would be (2) weeks from the time that the order is placed to shipping for the first batch. (give or take a day)

Luis, I am interested to learn if the battery mount is two Panasonic batteries, and what the other power connection inputs are, such as XLR and/or 2.1mm plug? Also, if the unit has a power attenuator that will allow for power in a range, say 10-30v?

Looking good, a nice big high resolution screen. cheers.

msuren, I will let you guys know as soon as I have the web site up.

Chistopher, it will probably not have power attenuators. but it will have a removable battery mount. so you can swap out what the battery source will be. Just working this out and I'll start taking orders.

Thanks for your interest.

Ok Guys,

I'm going to be in NY tomorrow and Saturday. More like Hobooken NJ. but will be hanging out in NY City probably both days.

I will be bringing my Monitor and my FS-Forever in case anyone like to see it. Not sure if we can meet up, but I'll give it a try.

I'm traveling with the GF, so its not like I can go see everyone and spend all day making house calls, but If someone is really interested and I'll be in the area, I can take 1/2 and show you the items.

Please let me know ASAP.

I'm not expecting to go to DC, but if you have a project that would pay a little, I'm sure I can make arrangements. hahahah.

In NY already. Man I miss this place. (actually hoboken but still) Don't miss the weather though.

Luis,
I'm coming into this a little late and don't know if you've already made all your decisions, + I didn't read the whole thread.

However re: SD and HD connectors:

No need at all for 3 wire SD connectors just a waste of space, however there should be a single BNC composite input for SD.

Just relying on the S-Video input for SD would be very limiting as many cameras don't have S-video outputs at all and on cameras that do I often use both outputs to different monitors - No one keeps long S-video cables for example.

Any chance of a waveform option?

- Lenny Levy

Thanks Lenny,

Yes, I decided againt the 3 bnc for SD video. I figure you could use the S-Video or like you said a single BNC for SD analog video. (so yes it has that)
As far as a waveform option, Unfortunately, that would require so much R&D for me, that I don't think its possible. I will talk to a new Mnf. my source in the LCD industry has just referred me to. Not sure if anything will come from it, but we'll see.

Thanks again Lenny for your input.

Hiya Luis,

any more news on this project? Its still looking like a mighty fine piece of kit.

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard,
Update coming soon. Just got back from NY and had the chance to meet with some mnf.
I will update you guys soon.
Thanks,
Luis

Siniarch, I was in New York on Saturday and just got back to the UK today. A shame I never knew you would be there because we could have arranged to have met up for a short while. I went over to pick up a Steadicam Flyer from fellow DVX forumite David Regenstal.

Sitting here typing compltely jet lagged.:Drogar-BlackEye(DBG

oh man. we totally could have hooked up. I brought my monitor and my FS-forever to show to people and the Mnf. that I'm dealing with. But no one took me up on the offer.
maybe next time.
Luis
