How do I change the settings to give me 1280x720? There is no option for this when I try to interpret the footage. The footage always shows up as 960x720.

just a note but if your working with HVX footage you can use raylight to convert HVX footage to a self contained AVI, and you can create an actual 1:1 pixel aspect 1280 x 720 p avi of the footage.

Instead of using Raylight to convert all the footage to .avi files..essenstially doubling the take up space on the hard drive.

Since Premiere can support the P2 MXF file format...can AE CS3 do the same?

no. AE does not support .MXF's and PPRO doesnt naitively do it yet either. you need to use the rayligh plugin to get naitive type .mxf supprt for PPRO untill later this month when the direct support from adobe is released as a free update. adobe does mention that they are trying to use the same type of support in all of their production suite, so I expect AE to get the same naitive .MXF support pretty soon, but no real word yet on when exactly it will be. its possible that AE will work with it from the same update, but they make no hint or allusion to that at all.. just saying its possible.

anyway, until the update, or if your working with an earlier version of PPRO that will not get .mxf support like CS3 this month, you can create fully self contained .avi files with raylight, and just delete or backup the mxfs to external HDD with if your worried about space. the raylight avi files are pixel for pixel the same as the original mxfs.
